What to Know
Class Overview
Stream Testing
The majority of the Environmental Solutions class is spent testing streams. The classes go to 12 different streams in the Teton Watershed. Students will be collecting data on the physical, chemical, and biological aspects of the creeks using professional equipment.
Class Work
ES is an outdoor class that integrates ecology, water chemistry, statistics, scientific technology, and Journalistic English. Students will go on energy field trips to learn about alternative energy source, and experience local history.

Team Work
Students in ES are divided into two groups, "Red Group" and "Gray Group." The groups are further divided into six "Teams." Students will spend most of their time working with their team on stream testing and projects.

FAQ
What credits do I get for the class?
Two science credits, one math, and one elective English. You will also receive four college credits from College of Southern Idaho
What hours is it offered?
First trimester only, class periods 2 through 5
How much does it cost?
$75 dollars, used for travel fees and for buying equipment
What are the field trips?
Each group will go to twelve different streams. Students also go to places like INL, the Menan Buttes, and Webster's Dam. The groups go out an alternating days, so students travel almost every other day.
